Tributary creeks of the river, deep channels and grass flats provide excellent habitats and exciting fishing (catching) opportunities. Hopewell City Marina has a public boat launch, kayak launch, bank fishing area, slip spaces, transient boat slips, and hosts several catfish and bass tournaments throughout the year. Jordan Point Marina has a public boat launch, kayak launch, kayak rentals, pontoon boat rentals, fully stocked ship’s store, marine diesel, ethanol-free gas, marine service & repair, dry storage, slip spaces, and more. Appomattox River Park features a kayak rental kiosk as well as a kayak launch and bank fishing.
