Paddle Battle 2021

| $35Welcoming paddlers of all levels in kayaks, canoes & SUPs to your choice of a 10-Mile Race, 10-Mile Leisure Paddle, or 2-Mile Shorty. Registration includes shuttle, morning snacks, lunch, t-shirt, and NEW handcrafted awards! Event proceeds support Friends of the Lower Appomattox River (FOLAR) conservation and stewardship programs.
Properly worn PFD’s are required. All participants are required to complete a liability waiver. Parent/Guardian signature required for all persons under 18 years of age. Under 17 must be accompanied by an adult.
Registration is $35 for paddlers 18 and up, and $30 for paddlers 17 and under / military & first responder discount. A limited number of kayaks are available to rent! Pre-registration required.

2-Mile Shorty: flat water, easy up-and-back paddle. 9:30AM start at Rotary Park on Pocahontas Island in Petersburg, turnaround at Roslyn Landing Park in Colonial Heights and paddle back to Petersburg. Drive yourself to the Hopewell City Marina for lunch and award program.
10-Mile Leisure Paddle: 9:30AM start at Rotary Park on Pocahontas Island in Petersburg and finish at Hopewell City Marina.
10-Mile Race: 10:00AM start at Rotary Park on Pocahontas Island and finish at Hopewell City Marina. BEST TIME to beat is 1 hour, 39 minutes! First place racing awards for categories: UNDER 50 – MALE & FEMALE AND OVER 50 – MALE & FEMALE
Shuttles will run to and from the start and finish, 7:45AM – 9:00AM and 12:15PM – 2:00PM
Option #1: Drop your boat at Pocahontas Island in Petersburg in the morning. Drive to Hopewell City Marina to park and take shuttle back to Petersburg to start your paddle.
Option #2: Park at the launch/registration site at Pocahontas Island in Petersburg. At the finish in Hopewell, a shuttle will return you and your kayak or canoe to Petersburg.
Option #3: You can also leave a second vehicle at the Hopewell City Marina and proceed to Petersburg for the start with your canoe/kayak/SUP. No shuttle required.
